This time Nick is joined by Graeme Bowman, who is performing in the comedy show ‘Patriarchy: Where Would We Be Without You?’ and is co-founder of Wise Women Will Save the World. He discusses the importance of addressing patriarchy and the role of art in bringing about social change. We also play some of Jess Ison’s talk from the Institute for Critical Animal Studies Oceania 2014 conference. This talk looks into links between feminism and concern for animals, analysing writers such as Carol Adams, Breeze Harper and pattrice jones. The talk also covers Carol Adams and transphobia (something we also covered in a discussion we had on Team Earthling podcast), as well as queer and pro-sex worker critiques of second-wave feminism.
