This podcast is hosted by Nick and Katie who are social justice activists who have been involved with a wide variety of issues such as animal rights, Occupy, refugee rights and workers’ rights. Nick is a collective member of the Institute for Critical Animal Studies (Oceania). He has a PhD in Sociology and his thesis was on the animal advocacy movement. He teaches Sociology, Anthropology and Criminology. He has given lectures on topics such as human/non-human relations and the animal advocacy movement, intersectionality and social movements, the Occupy movement, the anti-neoliberal globalisation movement and anarchism, refugees and migration, media and politics, and music and social change. He has also published heaps of articles, some of which you can read here. Katie has completed her honours in law and politics, looking at the issue of stateless refugees. She has worked and volunteered in the union movement and community legal centres.
