To help us discuss this, we are joined by feminist activist Elena Trethowan, who is helping to organise One Billion Rising events. Before we get onto this event, we discuss some other feminist-related issues, including a feminist-themed ‘What you HAVEN’T learnt from the media this week’, how men also suffer from gender roles, “nice” guys, comedian Jamie Kilstein’s opposition to rape culture in stand-up comedy (see from 1.44.10 onwards of this video) and the tables turning on “slut shamers”.
