In this environmental-themed episode, we discuss the recent Global Climate Change Pact in Durban and the carbon tax, as well as some other environmental solutions. Throughout the episode, we also discuss ex-Australian Prime Minister John Howard supporting a book for kids that denies climate change, the similarities between both major political parties in Australia on environmental issues and a bunch of others, and ‘When Karl Pilkington Makes Sense’ on the environment.
To help us discuss these issues, we are joined by Shaun Murray, spokesperson on coal from Friends of the Earth (FoE) Australia, and Julia Dehm, a volunteer from FoE Australia. FoE were unique in the environmental movement, in that they rejected the carbon tax. We also speak to Sandy Chambers, one of the state co-ordinators of the Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) in Western Australia. Chambers and the AYCC campaigned for the carbon tax.
