About

Nick, Katie and friends shoot the shit about social justice issues, politics and pop culture.

We discuss current events and political issues from a progressive perspective that is pro-animal liberation, anti-racist, pro-feminist, pro-queer, pro-environment and anti-capitalist. Our podcast gives a voice to Left, progressive and anarchist voices and ideas that are neglected in the mainstream media.

Subscribe to our podcast on your favourite app and/or follow our blog to be notified of new episodes. We also now have a blog with articles written by us, a Youtube channel with videos we’ve made and a Spotify playlist with music, comedy and spoken word that we’ve played on the show!

This podcast is hosted by Nick and Katie who are social justice activists who have been involved with a wide variety of issues such as animal rights, Occupy, refugee rights and workers’ rights. Nick is a sociologist and Katie is a lawyer. She has worked and volunteered in the union movement and community legal centres.

    Your podcast is broken. Only the last 10 or so episodes are showing on it. You need to fix this.

  2. Unfortunately we only have so much space on our feed – so not all of our episodes are available to listen to on iTunes or Cyber Ears. However, any episode that is not available to listen to through iTunes or Cyber Ears is available to listen to through a link on our website – just find the episode you want to listen to on our site and there will be a link to download an MP3 for the episode on MediaFire.

    Cheers,
    Nick

    Hi Guys

    Just listened to your insightful interview with Kim Socha from 2015. I just wanted to know why you sites the research you paper you did? I ask because it was published in 1994.

    Very best wishes and look forward to hearing from you. Any response would be so helpful and I’d really appreciate it.

    Joel

    • Hi Joel, good to hear that some people are still getting something out of our episodes from 2015! Can you please let me know which research paper from 1994 you’re referring to? Thanks, Nick

      • Joel says:

        Nick, so great to hear from you! The research paper you mentioned was;

        ‘Animal rights as a new environmental cosmology’

        It’s a strange paper but has an extraordinary statistic regarding the proportion of the ‘religious’ amongst animal advocates in America, in contrast to their statistical dominance amongst the greater population.

        If you could send me a copy of your copy I would be SO grateful!

        Joel
